“We hope that the Congolese government will ensure the safety of Dr Denis Mukwege upon his return, his family and all the Panzi Hospital says Dr. Nfundiko, Medical Director ad interim of the hospital institution.”
It was during a press conference held this Saturday, January 12 in preparation for the return of Dr. Denis Mukwege.
Front of a dozen journalists and media correspondents local, national and international Dr Nfundiko says Dr. Mukwege return to Bukavu early Monday afternoon to continue its work to treat women victims of atrocities in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
“You know the work he does to save the lives of people in the DRC,” he said.
He continued, “it refuses to continue to live in exile because he blames himself for anything, or against his country or against any citizen. His place is in Bukavu alongside his patients, hospital staff and his family. ‘
The speaker of the day also thanked the States and partners who have supported and continue to support Dr. Denis Mukwege and Panzi Hospital.
“We want the international community that recognizes the work of Dr. Denis Mukwege will continue to involved to enable him to continue his work,” concludes Nfundiko.
